Methods And Precautions For Cleaning Self Priming Pumps

1. The reason for cleaning the self priming pump
Many types of self priming pumps require regular cleaning after a period of use. Generally, products that are similar to clean water do not require cleaning. For example, pipeline chemical pump products. Other self priming pump products contain particles or liquids with high viscosity in the medium because the medium being transported is relatively turbid, and there may be dirt inside the pump body after a long period of use, So it is necessary to regularly clean the self priming pump.

2. The specific methods for cleaning the self priming pump and the precautions for cleaning the self priming pump are as follows:
(1) To clean the self priming pump, first open the casing of the self priming pump and blow it clean with an air source. Upon inspection of the appearance of the casing gasket, there should be no significant damage such as cracks or scratches. Otherwise, it should be replaced. Upon inspection of the appearance of the pump casing, there should be no deformation or cracks, and the joint surface should be bright, undamaged, or scratched. Otherwise, it should be repaired or replaced.
(2) Check the impeller and ensure that corrosion, wear, and cavitation do not exceed the limit. If cracks, damage, and deformation are found, it is necessary to replace the impeller with a new one. The pump shaft of the self priming pump should be free of scratches, burrs, or corrosion. The key and keyway should cooperate tightly. The pump shaft can be straightened if it is excessively twisted, and surface damage or corrosion can be repaired or replaced.
(3) When cleaning the pump body, be careful not to damage the maintenance personnel. If welding repairs the pump body, fire protection measures should be set up to avoid fire. Clean and inspect the rotor components, clean the rotor components, use non combustible cleaning agents to avoid fire.
