The efficient and intelligent self suction pump does not require the installation of a low valve in the pipeline. Before operation, it only needs to retain a certain amount of liquid in the pump body, which simplifies the pipeline system and improves working conditions. The materials include cast iron and stainless steel. During self suction, an air water mixing layer is formed by the impeller. If there is too little water stored, the air water mixing layer will be very thin and the suction volume will be small. When there is very little water stored, it cannot effectively isolate the inlet and outlet of the mouth, and even communicate with each other, causing the vacuum degree at the inlet to be damaged. From the experiment, it can be seen that when the water storage capacity of the pump is less than 1.62, the pump cannot continuously pump air. When the water storage capacity is 21, the vacuum gauge stabilizes and starts to continuously pump air. As the water storage capacity increases, the vacuum degree also increases. After reaching a certain value, the vacuum degree no longer increases. This pattern is the same for various self-priming centrifugal pumps, but its values vary.

The theoretical value of the suction head of an efficient intelligent self suction pump is 10 meters. However, in practice, due to accuracy, efficiency, and other reasons, this number cannot be reached. Therefore, the installation height of the pump must be below this number. In practical applications, the suction height of the pump is 8 meters. Another name is the allowable installation height of the water pump.
